Welcome!
My name is António Gouveia, a Portuguese painter currently based in Lisbon. I can say that my love for drawing and painting started when I was a child. I’ve always been deeply drawn to the arts and have spent countless hours working on my craft, mostly teaching myself along the way. As a child, I would often lock myself in my room, completely absorbed in my creations, and I was lucky to spend some time in Cecília Menano’s atelier when I was a little boy. That experience marked the beginning of my artistic journey.
Each work I create is done with dedication and care, and my artistic process is very fluid. My work is a constant search for balance between structure and fluidity, the tangible and the dreamlike and I have a deep fascination with the symbiosis between abstract shapes and organic forms. What excites me most is the entire creative journey, the constantly dreaming of the next piece and pushing myself to discover something unique and original in every stroke.
I decided to create this shop to share with you some of the works I’m developing. Here, you’ll find a range of oil and acrylic paintings, mixed media drawings, sculptures, prints and digital pieces, each one a reflection of my ongoing exploration of art.
